The Naked Ventriloquist
Friday, Nov 22, 2024 at 8:00 PM - English
Former Miami Police officer writes and stars in his one-act play, "The Naked Ventriloquist," about emotional healing and the road toward self-acceptance.
"The Naked Ventriloquist" tells the story of Bill, a retired police officer who sets out to reprise his role as a ventriloquist with the help of his three puppet alter-egos, Buster, Kooky, and Dan the Man. What starts as a children’s show takes a dark twist into Bill’s inner struggles with racing thoughts, self-loathing, and trauma. The result is a thought-provoking and humorous performance that invites the audience to confront their own inner demons as the performer, in a final act of self-liberation, overcomes his.

PrEP'd - A World Premiere Play
Friday, Nov 22, 2024 from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM - English
Plays of Wilton & Ronnie Larsen Presents Mount a World Premiere Play Sponsored by CAN Community Health Foundation.
The world premiere of PrEP'd, conceived by Ronnie Larsen and Joseph Guidetti, written by Ronnie Larsen and developed through a grant from CAN Community Health Foundation will run for 17 performances at The Foundry in Wilton Manors from Friday, November 1 through Sunday November 24, 2024. PrEP'd will be the tenth world premiere presented at The Foundry since their inception in 2020.
PrEP'd is a new play by Ronnie Larsen informed by a series of interviews conducted with gay men in South Florida and Ronnie's own firsthand experiences. PrEP'd tells the story of Jerry Withers, a gay man, whose sexual development is stifled by the trauma of living through - and surviving - the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s. Despite the advent of PrEP to prevent the sexual transmission of HIV, Jerry continues to struggle negotiating sex and love in a modern and extremely complicated world. Following his performance in the sold out run of Scenes From My Love Life, Harry Redlich returns to The Foundry to star as Jerry. He is joined by Foundry Alumni, Zach Krouch, Jeffrey Roach and Jack Stein. Making their Foundry debuts are Gianni Palermo, Sam Lantz, Geoff Freitag and Ben Prayz.
This project would not have been possible without the generosity and support of CAN Community Health. They believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate care and the resources they need to live their healthiest lives. As South Florida's premier health resource, they are dedicated to ending the epidemics affecting our communities through education, prevention, and comprehensive support. For specialized medical, pharmacy, dental, and behavioral health, visit www.cancommunityhealth.org, call 844-922-2777, or visit one of their South Florida locations
